Adnane Benali
Adnane Benali is a Boston-based Arabic Calligrapher, art enthusiast and software developer. He was born in Morocco. He learned the foundations of Arabic calligraphy from Iraqi and Boston-based master and Ustadh Hajj Wafaa and the Maghribi style “Mojawhar Jaleel” from Moroccan Ustadh Hamid Kharboushy. His interests also span Gouache, digital painting and illustration. It is the sense of belonging to the rich culture of North Africa, deeply rooted in Moorish Spain, that inspires Adnane to learn Arabic Calligraphy. And it is the need to preserve this sense that keeps him studying both the Arabic language and its form, and introduce it to those around him.
