Arash Shirinbab’s Solo Calligraphy Exhibition at Zaytuna College

November 14-15, 2014

2401 Le Conte Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94709

This exhibition is on display as a section of the Annual Conference of the Ibn 'Arabi Society USA, on Symbols of Transformation: Jesus & Mary in the Teachings of Ibn 'Arabi. Registration is needed at http://ibnarabisociety.org for attendance.

Arash Shirinbab is an award winning artist and calligrapher. He is a recent graduate of California College of the Arts and has managed to be a successful blend of practicing artist, calligrapher, designer, and entrepreneur for the past ten years.

In 2008 he received classic calligraphy trainings from the Iranian Calligraphers Association. Since then, he has found Arabic-Persian calligraphy to be a wonderful way of expressing his artistic intentions, as well as a deeply satisfying spiritual practice.

His artworks on one hand have Near Eastern identity, and on the other hand are very contemporary and aesthetically worldwide comprehensible. Shirinbab is inspired by his masters, S. V. Mousavi Jazayeri, Nasser Arabpour, and Abdolreza H. Garakani.
