Calligraphic Dialogue

A Unique Calligraphy Workshop and Exhibit by Uehira Baikei, Master Calligrapher from Japan

And Arash Shirinbab, Local Arabic-Persian Calligrapher

Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 5 – 7 p.m.

1433 Madison St., Oakland CA 94612 at ICCNC (Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California)

Join us for a fruitful evening of viewing demonstration of two of the most important calligraphy traditions in the world, Japanese and Arabic-Persian (Islamic) Calligraphy; Experience and practice them in a hands-on workshop; and view the exhibit of some of the best traditional and non-traditional calligraphy artworks from the masters.

  • Artworks are available for sale.

  • Workshop equipment are provided for up to 20 participants in the first come first serve bases.

  • Please wear comfortable clothes since the workshop might need flexible positions.

  • The event is in English, open to the public, and free. Donations are appreciated.
