EXHIBITION THEME AND DETAILS

For 2015, artists may participate in the themed section that is about “Giving and Benevolence” or participate in the non-theme section. We are going to showcase the digital representation of the selected artworks at the Neekon Festival at the Golden Gate Park and De Young Museum of Art in San Francisco, USA, on September 26, 2015 (no display of the physical artwork). We will also showcase the works online from September 26 – December 29, 2015 on our website. This is a very unique opportunity for all artists around the world to participate and become part of one of the biggest digital exhibition of contemporary Iranian art in the world. We will actively promote the selected arts in the course of the exhibition and beyond through various methods including but not limited to sharing them and introducing artists via email lists, social media, multiple websites, apps, and exhibition catalog to make sure several thousands of audiences will view the arts globally.

Iranian artists from around the world, artists with Iranian descend, and all other artists whose art is inspired by Iranian art and culture are invited to participate. We are seeking artwork that expresses the theme and a commitment to furthering understanding of Iranian art and cultural dialogue.

We seek artwork in various mediums including painting, drawing, calligraphy, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textile, crafts, digital art and mixed media, and design (graphic, industrial, architecture, landscape). All artwork must be the original creation of the artist submitting the artwork. Artists at any level and with any style (traditional, folk, modern, abstract, conceptual, etc.) are encouraged to submit artwork.

Entries will be curated and selected based on their relevance to theme, creativity, quality of execution, and the cultural expressions. We will not consider submissions that do not relate to our theme in any way, depict human nudity, expressing strong political messages, or representing violence. The 2015 exhibition is going to be digital, so there will not be a need to send the actual artwork to the USA.
