Iranian Arts Now Exhibition
The time for our “Iranian Arts Now” online exhibition is now over after three month but due to its success we are extending its display. For this exhibition we received over 500 art submissions from over 200 artists living all over the world including Iran, Turkey, Tajikistan, Egypt, Malaysia, Ukraine, Canada, and various states in the US including California, Arizona, Illinois, and Connecticut.
The submissions included a wide assortment of medium including painting, drawing, photography, calligraphy, sculpture, wood work, illustration, crafts, collage, digital art, installation, and mixed media. There was a wide variety of artistic expressions and styles from traditional and folk art and crafts to modern and contemporary styles.
The outcome was a digital exhibition of over 100 selected artworks showcased at the NeekOn festival on September 26, 2015 at the Koret Auditorium of De Young Museum in San Francisco, California. NeekOn festival was led by Borhan Oskoorouchi and Iranican and was held on de Young Museum and Golden Gate Park of San Francisco, California on September 26, 20015. It was planned to have different art and cultural programs including music, performance, food and bazar, and art gallery mostly offered free to the public. Through the festival, beside the Iranian Arts Now exhibition, over 20 original artworks from local, national and international artists was curated and displayed at a pop-up style exhibition under the Bandshell of Music Concourse of Golden Gate Park.
The festival was visited by over 2,000 visitors (with estimate of over 1,000 guests at a given time), it had the support of over 10 collaborating cultural organizations, was including 7 different ethnic and cultural representations, and it was supported by the help of over 100 volunteers.
Moreover, over 214 accepted artworks of the Iranian Arts Now were showcased on the online exhibition of Ziya Art Center at www.ziyaart.com for the course of 3 months which had over 2,000 visitors worldwide.
The “Iranian Arts Now” exhibition is a showcase of the outstanding examples of the very diverse expressions of the contemporary Iranian artists and the arts inspired by it around the world that is fostering a conversation both among the artists themselves and between the artists and the general public, so that the commonalities and differences in the Iranian expressions can be explored and communicated. This exhibition was curated by award winning artist, Chief Judge and Curator, Arash Shirinbab.
Announcement of the Accepted Artists:
Ziya Art Center is thrilled to announce the selected artists of the “Iranian Arts Now” second international exhibition. This year we received over 500 art submissions from over 200 artists living all over the world including Iran, Turkey, Tajikistan, Egypt, Malaysia, Ukraine, Canada, and various states in the US including California, Arizona, Illinois, and Connecticut. The submissions included a wide assortment of medium including painting, drawing, photography, calligraphy, sculpture, wood work, illustration, crafts, collage, digital art, installation, and mixed media. We also received a wide variety of artistic expressions and styles from traditional and folk art and crafts to modern and contemporary styles.

Our 2015 exhibition will be a digital representation of over 100 selected artworks to be showcased at the Neekon festival on September 26, 2015 at De Young Museum in San Francisco, California. Moreover, all the 214 accepted artworks will be showcased on the online exhibition of Ziya Art Center at www.ziyaart.com for the course of 3 months. Thus, the selections are final and there is no need to post the actual work to us in California.
Important Note: We have 2 lists of accepted artists. The first list is showing the artists that are accepted and their application is final. The second list is showing the artists that are missing some information from application. If you are listed in the second list, you SHOULD email ziya.art.studio@gmail.com by September 23, 2015, your short (1 paragraph) biography, address, and specification of submitted works (include title, dimensions, medium, and price). If we do not receive this information we would unfortunately exclude the artist from the exhibition.

Iranian Arts Now 2015 At
EXHIBITION THEME AND DETAILS
For 2015, artists may participate in the themed section that is about “Giving and Benevolence” or participate in the non-theme section.We are going to showcase the digital representation of the selected artworks at the Neekon Festival at the Golden Gate Park and De Young Museum of Art in San Francisco, USA, on September 26, 2015 (no display of the physical artwork). We will also showcase the works online from September 26 – December 29, 2015 on our website. This is a very unique opportunity for all artists around the world to participate and become part of one of the biggest digital exhibition of contemporary Iranian art in the world. We will actively promote the selected arts in the course of the exhibition and beyond through various methods including but not limited to sharing them and introducing artists via email lists, social media, multiple websites, apps, and exhibition catalog to make sure several thousands of audiences will view the arts globally.
Iranian artists from around the world, artists with Iranian descend, and all other artists whose art is inspired by Iranian art and culture are invited to participate. We are seeking artwork that expresses the theme and a commitment to furthering understanding of Iranian art and cultural dialogue.
We seek artwork in various mediums including painting, drawing, calligraphy, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textile, crafts, digital art and mixed media, and design (graphic, industrial, architecture, landscape). All artwork must be the original creation of the artist submitting the artwork. Artists at any level and with any style (traditional, folk, modern, abstract, conceptual, etc.) are encouraged to submit artwork.
Entries will be curated and selected based on their relevance to theme, creativity, quality of execution, and the cultural expressions. We will not consider submissions that do not relate to our theme in any way, depict human nudity, expressing strong political messages, or representing violence. The 2015 exhibition is going to be digital, so there will not be a need to send the actual artwork to the USA.
SELECTED ARTWORK
Selected artworks will be announced on September 19, 2015 via email and through Ziya Art Center’s website www.ziyaart.com. Selections are final and we will exhibit digital image of selected artwork. There is no need to post actual artwork to the USA.
ARTWORK SALES
Artwork submitted to this exhibition can be set for sale. Price is determined by the artist (US Dollars). If the artwork is not for sale, the artist should mention it is Not For Sale in the Submission Form. We will get a 35% of the sales of the digital copy, reproductions, or the actual artwork. Artists are responsible for the packaging, shipment, and insurance of their artwork to the buyers. The price cannot be changed after submitting the Submission Form. If artists are not able to post their artwork overseas or are not able to receive money via credit card in case of sale, they should mention it is Not For Sale in the Submission Form.
